Welcome to the Simulator of Humans and Automation in Dispatch Operations (SHADO)! This tool allows you to rapidly prototype dispatch operations of transportation systems. SHADO simulates the work of dispatchers and fleet managers under various operating conditions during a shift. With SHADO, you can tune numerous parameters, run the simulation for multiple days, then see the distribution of operator workload and error as well as system delays.
If you're ready to get started, then run the simulator! For more information, check the Background and Help pages.
Set SimulatorThis tool, developed by Duke University researchers, is intended to support rather than dictate decisions. The design, validation, and analysis of SHADO was led by Victoria Chibuogu Nneji during her Ph.D. candidacy with Professor Missy Cummings. Contact Victoria with any questions or comments.
